You’ve booked a fantastic looking catered chalet in a great location, next question, what’s for dinner?
Food has to be one of the most important aspects of a chalet holiday and naturally all of our guests are keen to find out what we cook, who’s cooking it and what to expect for dinner.
All of our staff have either had professional catering experience or are keen knowledgeable amateur cooks who are passionate about their food, either way we spend three weeks training at the start of the season making sure the menu, the cooking and the presentation is perfected.
Each season with the help of a sommelier we handpick a selection of wines for our house wine list, usually around four reds, four whites, a cremant, a champagne and a rosé. We’re selecting for a range of flavours and styles that will best compliment the menu.
Evening dinner service starts around half seven with a complimentary drink from the bar and canapés. All our canapés are designed by our hosts and are inspired by their favourite flavours, dishes they had on their travels or perhaps based on their favourite street food from some obscure market stall somewhere in Asia.
Some of our most popular and favourite dishes stay year after year with other dishes being replaced by inspiration from our talented chalet hosts, the mountain of cook books we read and test every year, dishes from our travels, recipes from friends and family or from our favourite shows like The Great British Bake Off and Masterchef.
On returning from the slopes you can look forward to homemade cakes and cookies, a selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, all waiting for you to enjoy.
The day starts with a continental breakfast of fresh baguette, warm pain au chocolat, warm croissants, jams, eggs freshly cooked each morning, porridge, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, fruit juices and hot drinks. Each day we present a different hot option to choose from porridge, scrambled eggs, pancakes and other assorted morning goodness.
Please let us know if it’s a special occasion for yourself or someone in your group, we love a nice suprise and can make birthday cakes and other party surprises.
If you have any special dietary requirements we are more than happy to create you a separate menu plan for the week. We have a completely separate vegetarian menu specially designed with no meat or fish for the week for our vegetarian guests. Please just let us know before you arrive if you have a dietary requirement.
One night a week we give you the chance to go out and sample some of the local cuisine in one of Morzine’s great restaurants. Whether you fancy raclette, fondue or tartiflette we can recommend some restaurants for you to choose from.
