Cross Country Mountain Biking

Within the local area there are literally hundreds of kilometers of single track and cross country riding.

There are at least 10 well marked cross country routes in the immediate area that make use of the lift network to give you access to some spectuclar views and suberb riding.

With the vast network of the Portes du Soliel lifts open in the summer it's not difficult to plan your own ride for the day and explore some of the unmarked trails and routes.

Bikes

To make the most of the trails and terrain it's advisable to ride a full suspension bike especially if you plan to explore further than the marked trails.

A good quality hard tail bike (front suspension only) will cope with most of the terrain but after a full weeks riding you'll realise why rear suspension was invented!

We can help with a range of hire bikes and recommend the appropriate spec of bike to suit your riding.

Equipment

Below is a list of the basic equipment you should consider taking with you when you are riding cross country. Some areas will not let you ride without adequate body armour.

This list is not comprehensive and is intended a guide only, a range of bike repair tools is also worth carrying especially if you are venturing away from the lifts and marked trails.
