Firstly a disclosure. This is not literally a bird’s eye view of The Nest. But it certainly is a different view – the manager’s view – let’s call it a hawk eye view? A few weeks back I had the rare opportunity to stay in one of our catered chalets, at our luxury hideaway The Nest. It was pure bliss to spend some much needed time with family and completely relax. It also gave me an opportunity to really understand the experience we offer from a customer’s point of view. Here’s what I found out.

1. It’s big

The Nest – It’s Big!

The Nest only has four bedrooms but boy is this two hundred year old farmhouse big. There’s a huge amount of space which can comfortably accommodate two or even three families. The bedrooms are actually more like hotel suites and there’s lots of different chill-out areas, two dining tables and full-width balconies on both levels.

2. The chauffeur service really makes your holiday special

The Nest is located in the peaceful hamlet of Le Cret meaning you can completely get away from all the hustle and bustle. But you do get the best of both worlds as we offer a private chauffeur service. This offers you far more opportunity to experience the resort than your normal chalet holiday however central it might be. Ready for the slopes? Call the chauffeur and you’ll be there in a few minutes, no trudging through the snow in your boots carrying skis for you! Want to try Dog Sledding but don’t want it to eat into your day? No worries, we’ll pick you up and drop you off in a few minutes. It’s so easy to make the most of opportunities you normally might miss because transportation is complicated. We did indeed try Dog Sledding for the first time (check out the video here – sorry about the quality!). We were also able to pop up with the kids to Avoriaz’ new waterpark The Aquariaz.

3. A boutique experience

The Nest offers a 5* boutique hotel experience. I’ve already mentioned the chauffeur service. Each suite is stylishly and individually decorated, complete with white fluffy bathrobes, slippers and L’Occitaine toiletries. Food and drink is comparable to any of the top restaurants in Morzine, we lay-on pre-dinner canapés and aperitifs, and there’s also a well-stocked bar with locally sourced craft beers.

4. There are views to die for

The main lounge and dining area has full height glass sliding doors to the balcony, offering panoramic views of the Morzine valley. During the day plenty of sun floods in. In the evening there are spectacular views of the valley and Morzine itself. The best way to take in the views? With a glass of champagne in the hot tub of course.

5. It’s fantastic for families

We stayed with our two little ones and the grandparents so I was able to understand how well The Nest works for families. There’s so much space that you can spend as little or as much time with each other as you need. The kids can happily play away in the snug while grand-dad can unwind with a single malt next to the woodburner.

I hope that’s given you an insider view into what makes The Nest so special. But please don’t just take my word for it, one of our recent guests, Sarah, was kind enough to leave a detailed review of The Nest, read it here. You might have to login in to your Google+ account.
