Autumn is approaching fast, the tops of the hills have been white a couple of times already and it’s time to get this seasons kit sorted out and get booking your winter hols!

early season

We get lots of questions via email regarding snow conditions early season and which lifts are open so we thought we’d explain it all here.

Why come early season?
Bargain accommodation €445 per person (approx £380) for
– 7  nights accommodation in one of our great chalets
–  3 course evening meals on 6 nights
– Free Mountain Hosting with us and our staff, no need for piste maps!!
Reduced price lift passes
Quite pistes, un-crowded parks  and untouched powder

When do the lifts open?
The lifts actually open at the weekends any-time from mid November onwards depending on the snow conditions. The last two years anyone living here has been able to ski in Avoriaz from late November.

Which areas are open early?
The week before Christmas, 12th – 19th December, the lift companies are not at full operating capacity but open as many lifts as they can usually around the main areas.  This means you can cover the main areas around Avoriaz, Les Gets and Morzine but not all of the smaller lifts are open. We still come out with our guests to Mountain Host so you won’t have any trouble finding your way round.

Are lift pass prices cheaper?
Yes pass prices are normally 15% cheaper for this week  €177.65 instead of €209 for a 6 day full area pass.

What happens if the Super Morzine and Pleney lifts are not open?
We just use our 7 seater vans to take guests 10mins up to the Prodain lift which takes you straight up to 1800m or round to the Ardent tele-cabine.

Can I book ski hire and lessons?
Yes you can still book ski hire and some lessons as normal, group lessons aren’t always available as ski schools need a minimum number of students to run a lesson.

Why are you price so much cheaper for this week?
Even though we’ve had some excellent conditions the last couple of years, because the whole resort isn’t guaranteed to be open we adjust our prices accordingly.

Basically early season is a great time to get time on the hill at bargain prices with uncrowded, unspoilt pistes and is the perfect time to come away if you’re planning on more than one trip this winter.
