Our Luxury Chalets in Morzine
Mountain Spaces is a small independent family business owned and run by Kate and Chris Lawler, located in the stunning town of Morzine, part of the Portes du Soleil ski area in the Northern French Alps.
We offer luxury Morzine accommodation with catered and self catered chalets in a central location only minutes from the ski lifts and the bars and restaurants.
We launched in the winter of 2008 running our first chalet, working on our menu and looking after our guests. We’ve grown since then and now offer three luxury catered chalets and NEW for this winter a luxury self catered chalet.
We might be a bigger company but some of our happiest memories are still from our time spent looking after our very first guests.
We and the Mountain Spaces team look forward to welcoming you to Morzine this winter.
Mountain Spaces is perfect for all types of winter holiday makers attracting a wide variety of guests from groups of friends and young professionals, large family groups to single travellers looking for a sociable and friendly place to stay with like minded people.
Over fifty percent of our clients are either returning guests or guests who have booked our Morzine chalets solely on a word of mouth recommendation from friends or family which we hope, means we are sticking to the principles we had when we launched the company.
‘Delightful’ Linda and Tony – Blue Bird Lodge 2014
Although the website shows the chalets and their wonderful charms, what can’t be expressed is the delightful and exceptional team which makes this holiday an amazing experience. Such a fabulous week, great food, great hosts, great company, so many happy memories.
Since 2008 we have grown slowly, expanding only when it’s the right time to do so making sure that we stay true to our reasons for starting the company in the first place. As well as building on our past successes we’re also always looking to offer our returning guests something new to look forward to.
Our service and what we can offer
If you are not already a returning guests we’ll probably get to know you pretty well before you even arrive, arranging ski lessons, ski hire, helping with dietary requirements, room layouts and travel arrangements.
Once you’re here our fantastic chalet hosts are on hand to look after you but we are always around to say hello and make sure everyone is happy, well fed, looked after and having a great time.
We honestly believe you can’t get a more personalised service than we offer from booking your holiday to breakfast on your last day.
Vicky and Richard – Milan Noir 2013
Kate and Chris, from the very first email you made organising this special week to celebrate our son’s 21st with all the family an absolute joy. Nothing was too much trouble, including a stunning 21st birthday cake, and our different dietary requirements. I felt very confident that we would be looked after well and wow, we were.
The wonderful Mountain Spaces team
Running Mountain Spaces is still a lifestyle as much as a business for us and getting on with a friendly, happy group of people who happen to work for us is as important as employing people with the right experience. Happy staff means happy guests, while a talented but grumpy and unsociable chef does not, a chalet host make.
Our staff will always have had customer-facing experience in cafes, bars or restaurants, they will often but not always have had professional culinary experience and they will always, always be happy smiley, interesting people.
‘Amazing hosts’ Shauna & Peter – Chalet Le Milan Noir 2014
We’ve felt like imposters the whole week staying in such a 5* place, we were convinced we got dropped off at the wrong chalet! The food and the special touches have made it such a memorable holiday, we’ll never forget snowboarding in Morzine. Joel and Siobhan our hosts have been amazing, attention to detail, amenable ,friendly professional sociable and so many other amazing adjectives!
Anyone who has been on a catered skiing holiday will know that the need for a great location, an awesome chalet and top notch cuisine goes without saying but it is the chalet hosts who really make a holiday. A fact that is not lost on us.
Morzine and the Ski Area
Morzine is a vibrant small town that includes the resort of Avoriaz 1800. Morzine is packed with small independent tour operators like Mountain Spaces and the lack of the big travel companies gives Morzine a laid back easy going rhythm with many loyal guests returning year after year for, quite literally decades.
The town has a large enough selection of bars and restaurants to keep returning guests, seasonaires and those of us lucky enough to live here all year entertained but still keeps that small town feel where you can get to know your way round and get to know the bar staff and locals.
The Portes du Soleil ski area is one of the largest in the world with over 650km of linked, pisted runs. There’s something for everyone, from kids fun parks to the ‘Coupe de Monde’ black run on a stunning exposed ridge over Avoriaz.
